This policy explains what BleedQ does with your information. It is short on purpose.
BleedQ is operated by Octapharma Canada Inc. We are responsible for the personal information described here. This policy sits alongside the BleedQ Terms of Use.
Almost every question about privacy on this site is answered by knowing which part you are in. The site tells you as you move between them.

What happens to your information:
These forms are hosted on a separate Octapharma Canada website. The same company and the same privacy policy apply — only the address changes.
We collect your name and contact details, the organisation you work for, what you are asking for, and anything else you choose to write in the message. That is all, and only when you submit a form.
We do not ask for patient information on any form. If you are reporting an adverse event, some clinical detail about the patient is unavoidable (see section 5) but please give only what the report requires and no identifying details beyond that.
We use it to answer you and to fulfil what you have asked for. Each form goes to the internal Octapharma department that handles that kind of request: training requests to the training team, medical questions to medical information, quality matters to quality assurance. We use your information for that purpose and for the follow-up it needs.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to send you marketing information unless you ask us to.
Our staff who need it to answer you. Service providers who host the site and process form submissions on our behalf, under contracts that limit them to that work. Other Octapharma group companies where a request has to be handled outside Canada, most often for adverse events and medical information. Anyone we are required to share it with by law or by a regulator, including Health Canada.
Some of these providers and group companies operate outside Canada, in the European Union. While your information is in another country it is subject to that country's laws, including lawful access by its courts and authorities. We use contractual protections, but we cannot put your information beyond the reach of foreign law, and you should know that before you submit a form.
If you report an adverse event, we are legally required to record it, assess it, and report it to Health Canada and to health authorities in other countries. We must keep those records for many years.
This means we cannot delete an adverse event report at your request, and we cannot delete it at a patient's request either. It is the one part of this policy where your choices are limited, and the limit comes from drug safety law rather than from us. Reports are handled under good pharmacovigilance practice and are kept confidential within that process.
Simulator sessions: nothing is kept by us. If you export a PDF, it is generated temporarily on our server and automatically deleted after approximately two minutes; we do not log or retain a copy. Any PDF you export is yours. It is stored on your own device, and how long it exists is up to you.
Form submissions and the correspondence that follows: as long as we need them to handle your request and to meet our record-keeping obligations, then securely destroyed.
Adverse event and patient safety records: for the period drug safety law requires, which is considerably longer as outlined in section 5.
Our retention schedule sets the exact periods and is available on request.
We use a small number of cookies and a tag manager to understand how the site is used. We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site and how they use it. Both of these assign your browser a random ID so we can tell one visitor from another and they don't identify you personally.
Cookies that are strictly necessary to make the site work are always on. Anything else runs only if you agree, and you can change your mind at any time through the cookie settings link at the foot of every page. You can also block cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may then not work.
Some materials, such as product monographs, handling instructions and reconstitution videos, are hosted on third-party platforms. When you open them, you leave BleedQ, and that platform's own privacy practices apply. Videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode so that watching them does not set advertising cookies.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you and get a copy. You can ask us to correct anything wrong. You can ask us to delete it, subject to section 5 and to any records we are required to keep. You can withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies or to further contact at any time. You can ask for your information in a portable format. And you can complain to us first, and if we do not resolve it, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or to your provincial commissioner.
We will respond within thirty days. There is no charge.
BleedQ is intended for healthcare professionals in Canada. It is not directed at patients, the public, or anyone under the age of majority, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
We update this policy from time to time. The date below tells you when it last changed, and material changes will be flagged on the site.
